Our board comprises a team of experienced, respected and esteemed leaders in the community, corporate and philanthropic sectors. All of our board members act in a voluntary capacity. One of their primary tasks is to ensure that the assets we hold are well managed and that the income from our funds is directed to work hardest for the greatest possible impact, whilst minimising costs and bureaucracy.

Mike is a Chartered Accountant and works with KPMG. He specialises in dealing with privately owned companies and in particular property transactions. He has written and lectured extensively on these subjects over many years. Mike is also a Fellow of the Irish Tax Institute. Mike was appointed to The Community Foundation for Ireland board in February 2012.
A chartered accountant, Louis retired from Airtricity in 2008 which he co-founded in 1997. Louis was appointed to The Community Foundation for Ireland board in February 2009.
Barry is the founder and Managing Director of Richmond Marketing, a leading supplier of premium beverages in the Irish market. He previously worked as Marketing Director of the Sunday Tribune and was a shareholder and Managing Director of a number of commercial radio stations. Barry was appointed to The Community Foundation for Ireland board in December 2007.
Richard is a chartered accountant and was a partner in KPMG from 1980 until 2004. He became chair of the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants for five years from 2005 and he is currently a director of a number of Irish and European companies. He is also a member of the Governing Authority of NUI Maynooth. Richard was appointed to The Community Foundation for Ireland board in March 2012.
Eamonn was previously a Non-Executive Director of Irish Life & Permanent. An actuary, he was formerly a partner with Mercer Human Resource Consulting. He is a past President of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland and is a former Chairman of the Pensions Board and of the Irish Association of Pension Funds. Eamonn was appointed to The Community Foundation for Ireland board in November 2003.
Dr Brian Keogh
Brian is a physician and Past President/Treasurer of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. He is also a Former Chairman of the Institute of Public Health-North/South, an Honorary Fellow of the American College of Physicians and author of over 100 scientific publications. Brian was appointed to The Community Foundation for Ireland board in October 2008.
Anna Lee has considerable experience of the local/community development sector with a particular focus on the development of anti-poverty / social inclusion strategies. She has been centrally involved in the design and implementation of integrated actions at local and regional level and was CEO of South Dublin County (formerly Tallaght / Dodder Valley) from 1991 until July 2014.
Anna has contributed to policy development at national, regional and county level She currently chairs Volunteer Ireland and the South Dublin County Local Community Development Committee. She is a Board member of the Community Foundation for Ireland, Focus Ireland and Tallaght Hospital.
Roddy spent a number of years in senior positions with leading advertising agencies before co-founding Dimension, Ireland’s first multi-disciplinary marketing communications group. Roddy’s expertise is in business development and he has a track record of success in bringing businesses from conceptual stage through to full commercial development. He has extensive consultancy experience in financial services, professional services, healthcare, distribution and retail and also advises a number of early stage enterprises. Roddy was appointed to The Community Foundation for Ireland board in March 2014.
Brian was a Director of Leaseplan Ireland MKC Communications. He was also a member of the National Economic & Social Council and sits on the Advisory Council of the Policy Institute of Trinity College, Dublin. Brian joined The Community Foundation for Ireland board in February 2001.
Patrick Farrell is Head of AIB’s Retail Bank in Area South. Patrick previously held the positions of Head of AIB Private Banking and many senior roles in Ulster Bank. His education includes INSEAD – Executive Management Programme, UCD Smurfit Business School – MBA and UCD – B.Agr.Sc (Agribusiness and Rural Development). Team sports is a passion of his, in particular rugby and GAA. Patrick joined The Community Foundation for Ireland board in December 2016.

Chris and John are former Chairpersons of The Community Foundation for Ireland and are Goodwill Ambassadors at The Foundation.
