Dame Stephanie Shirley Addresses Event on Women in Philanthropy Today in Dublin

Dame Stephanie Shirley at The Women in Philanthropy Breakfast SeminarThe Community Foundation for Ireland and Philanthropy Ireland, today, held a very successful event on Women in Philanthropy. This was to follow on from our landmark event in April entitled “The Power and Potential of Women in Philanthropy” which gave many women in Ireland a strong introduction to philanthropy and what can be achieved. Today’s event focused more on the practical aspect of giving and how someone can actually get involved in the act of philanthropy. We were delighted today to have the UK’s first Ambassador for Philanthropy Dame Stephanie Shirley speaking at the event and imparting her wisdom on how she began to engage with philanthropy and her learnings from her many years involved in the area.

The Community Foundation for Ireland Welcomes Government Initiative to Support Philanthropy

The Community Foundation for Ireland, a philanthropic and grant making organisation, welcomes Minister Carey’s initiative to support and develop philanthropy in Ireland which was launched today at the National Forum on Philanthropy.

Speaking about the announcement, Tina Roche CEO of The Community Foundation for Ireland said. “It is a much needed endorsement to allow for the development of a philanthropic culture for the future.
