New Guide launched for community groups
17 May 2010 | In Press ReleasesThe Foundation's sister organisation, Business in the Community Ireland has launched a great new resource for community groups. On Monday, May 17th, Pat Carey T.D., Minister at the Department of Community, Equality And Rural Affairs launched an innovative new guide entitled, “Communities and Business Working Together” at an event in the Guinness Storehouse, Dublin. The guide, published by non-profit organisation Business in the Community Ireland and sponsored by Diageo Ireland and Ulster Bank, aims to help community and voluntary groups work with businesses in Ireland to achieve sustainable community development.
Ireland’s First Women’s Fund Launched at Landmark Symposium on Women in Philanthropy
14 April 2010 | In Press ReleasesTo coincide with a landmark Symposium on Women in Philanthropy, which was held in Dublin today (Wednesday April 14th, 2010), The Community Foundation for Ireland launched the first ever Women’s Fund for Ireland. The Fund, which is dedicated solely to supporting women’s causes, is the first of its kind in Ireland.

Realising the Power and Potential of Charitable Bequests in Developing Irish Philanthropy

Women are one and half times more likely than men to leave money to a charity in their will. That is one of the key findings from the largest study ever carried out in Ireland on charitable giving through wills which was researched by The Community Foundation for Ireland. The study showed that approximately one in three people make a will and of these on average 10% include a donation to a charity or a foundation.
